Beta Blockers for Hypertension

These block the release of renin.

If a person is asthmatic, remember we use the primary beta-1 drug, but it’s not guaranteed that it’s safe.  We also talked about the caution with insulin dependent diabetics as it masks the symptoms of hypoglycemia.
