Metronidazole (Flagyl) – p.o., inj
Bacteriostatic (p.o.) / Bacteriocidal (if given intravenously)

Use
- Trichomonas (sexually transmitted infection)
- Anaerobic Infections
- Helicobacter pylori (same as clindamycin minus the STD)
Adverse Reaction
- A disulfiram-like reaction with alcohol.
  - Disulfiram (Antabuse) is a drug that scares alcoholics not to drink because they may literally die. If they have alcohol while on metronidazole, they may not die but they will get extremely sick.
