>What is something that the western coasts of California, Peru, Namibia and Morocco all have in common? They all experience a wonderful phenomena every year that causes a thick fog to form over the ocean called a marine layer which comes over the land and makes for overcast, gloomy mornings. In Southern California we call this time of year May Grey and June Gloom. (Sometimes it starts as early as April and extends to July and maybe even August.) In Los Angeles, where I was born and raised, the Santa Monica mountains have always been my escape to nature the day I got my independence with my drivers license and access to my parents car. This transverse mountain range runs along the coast which allows for some EPIC views especially when this phenomenon is occurring. Now, I get to share this phenomena with all of you because I’ve been casually gathering footage for the past few weeks and put together this video that shows what it’s really like.
