How To Use Your Time Wisely
My first vlog talking about self-worth, perfectionism, fear of failure, imposter syndrome, the dunning kruger effect, and more… was a HUGE hit. I got more comments than ever on YouTube from them. It was actually really cool. And the best part was that it wasn’t a complex video where I had to setup a tripod and have an outfit with perfect lighting and sound, with heavy video editing, which I am accustomed to doing. It was simple and real.
So now, I just put out another vlog in the same fashion to test the waters. This one is about TIME. Time being the most valuable thing you have. I talk in depth about the importance of being picky with what friends you choose, learning to say no and turning off notifications on your phone that steal your attention and prevent you from achieving your dreams! I hope you enjoy this one as well.

Hey guys, here’s just another video
Where I’m gonna be real and raw
And just say whatever’s on my mind, ok?
So hopefully it will help you
Because recently I turned 34 years old
and it was actually the first time ever
that I felt like I was an adult
It was a very strange feeling
I never felt like I was old, ever!
I still don’t feel like I’m old
I’m really young at heart
And I have lots of friends from every age range
I don’t only hang out with people my age…
I feel young at heart you know..
BUT… This was an interesting feeling
And you know a few years ago I had an existential crisis
I was like 28 or something and I was like WOW
We’re all gonna die.
I think this happens to everyone eventually in their 20’s.
Where they realize.. hey… everyone’s gonna die.
I’m gonna die.
It’s kinda sad
But it makes you realize that time is valuable.
Life on earth is finite.
It’s not forever
Time is really precious.
Time is the most valuable thing you have.
Once it passes, you can’t get it back.
And everything wants your attention.
So turn off phone notifications on your phone that don’t serve you.
There’s all these apps and
different things that want your attention.
They’re trying to steal, distract from you.
But your time, your attention to things:
that is the most important thing you have.
So take that minute, whenever a notification pops up, you go HEY this isn’t serving me, this isn’t helping me
And go turn it off
So that you’ll only receive
distractions that are relevant to you
Another thing is …
The people you hang out with are very important.
Be very selective with who your friends are
Maybe evaluate who your friends are if life isn’t going the way you want to.
There’s a saying in Armenian it goes something like…
ինձի ցույց տուր ով է ընկերներդ,
ես ալ քեզի կսեմ դուն ով ես:
Which basically means..
Show me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who YOU are
My great grandma used to say that
My grandma used to say that
And then my mom says that
I’m sure this saying is around in many cultures
BUT IT’S REALLY TRUE
The people you spend time with
You will adapt to them
You will go down to their energy level
(if their energy level is lower)
And I don’t mean on a physical energy level
I mean on a deeper level
You want to hang out with people that lift you UP.
Lift you up and make you THINK
People that inspire you
People who have their shit together
People who you look up to.
And you go wow… you know?
People who you can ask for advice.
If people around you are not helping you…
If they’re not the right people…
Why are you spending time with them?
Find new friends.
Right?
And it’s no hard feelings…
Friends come and go all the time.
NBD
That’s another thing…
There’s that saying by Warren Buffet:
The only difference between successful people and REALLY successful people is that successful people say NO to almost everything.
They don’t just give in to doing tasks of being a push over or anything like that
They know what they want.
They know their time is valuable.
They will say no to many things.
And it’s not because they’re an asshole…
It’s because they know what their self worth is.
And whatever is going to help
them get closer to their dreams…
Is what they’re going to be picky about saying yes to.
So that’s another thing.
Don’t be afraid of saying, “No, I can’t do that.”
“No, I can’t help you do that.”
You have all the right to be a little selfish.
If you’re a little selfish, then you can help others.
If you’re constantly expending energy and trying to help other people and you’re like so ragged…
It doesn’t really work that way.
You need to be a little selfish, take care of your own self as much as possible
And that will allow you to help others.
So going back to time.
We only have a little bit of time on this Earth
We never know when it’s gonna end.
But at the same time, it’s a weird paradox because time is ALL we have.
The experience of life IS the passage of time, right?
So don’t feel anxiety that you don’t have time for anything.
NO.
Do things calmly, take your time.
Do things the right way as if you DO have lots of time.
But just be picky with what it is that you’re doing with your time!
So that’s about it.
That’s all I wanted to say.
I’ll see you guys next time.
Thanks for watching
