Ever since early 2011, Facebook photos now pop up in what they call a theater-light-box. I’m glad to see Facebook is trying improve constantly but unfortunately this is one step backwards in convenience and design. The most annoying problem with the new photo system is that I can’t right-click and get the image source like before. Also, I just don’t like the way it looks because it doesn’t flow that well with the rest of the web site!
The easiest solution:
- Click on the photo you want to see.
- Click Refresh. Or hit F5. Or press CTRL-R.
That’s it! You will now magically revert to the classic style. 🙂
If you want to permanently disable the theater-box, you can install these simple add-ons to Chrome or Firefox:
Mozilla Firefox Add-on:
- Facebook Lightbox Killer here.
Google Chrome Extensions:
- No Thanks, Theaterbox: here.
Hope that helps!
